The British Board of Film Classification today launched a website for parents detailing the age ratings of video games. www.pbbfc.co.uk aims to make it easier for parents to keep track of the games their children are playing and whether they are suitable for underage eyes. Details include the age rating, the reasons for the rating and a plot synopsis of each game. It should prove to be a good resource for beleaguered parents being nagged for the latest ultra violent release on the basis that "everyone else is allowed to play it".

A series of cases may remake the software industry, all the way to the top where Google and other companies reside:

In the most recent of these three (cases)—the currently pending en banc Bilski appeal—the Office takes the position that process inventions generally are unpatentable unless they "result in a physical transformation of an article" or are "tied to a particular machine."
Patently-O sees Google's PageRank, the patent for which is owned by Stanford University, as failing the first part of the test, as generating scores isn't a physical transformation. The second part proves troubling given recent decisions made by the USPTO in a couple of other cases, not only for PageRank but other Google patents too.
"Google might have thought that the patent system would surely protect new technological developments that are highly creative and socially valuable. The PTO’s new position proves that view mistaken," Patently-O said.

Participants for the over-subscribed seminar discussed an array of Internet marketing issues around how to expand your online reach and how the Internet can work for your business.

The Gleaner Online team took the time to walk participants through various types of Internet marketing solutions, in particular, ad formats and properly utilising websites.

Based on a survey conducted after the seminar, the attendees expressed satisfaction with the venue, the information given, the length and way the information was presented and the level of interaction between the presenter and the audience.

"I'm sorry I came so late. The information was good and it cleared up many areas of concern," said one individual.

The Gleaner Online's Internet Marketing Seminar 2008, was considered by all a huge success.

Because of the large number of registrants, some could not be accommodated. However, another seminar of this nature will be held soon.

First impression: Google Chrome is simple, it does not bother us with too much options. Reading about how it works reveal to us that every tab is separated browser. That's way tabs are above address bar. Working with tabs is simple. It's fast and in general simple to use. Yust be careful when closing a browser, it close without asking what to do with open tabs.

Privacy: First I was looking for a way to disable suggestion of web addresses. I must say that it can be an useful tool, but I just wonted this functionality to be turned off.
It's easy done, by disabling the option in Tools/Options/Basic/ default search: Manage; Unchecked the options: »Use a suggestion....«

How about clean browsing without a trace on a computer: It is also there under Page icon's menu: New incognito window with short cut Ctrl+Shift+N. Browsing on the Internet in this window does not leave any trace , no history, no cookies and no temporary files. It's all deleted when Incognito window is closed.

Conclusion: In my opinion this is a good alternative to most well known browsers. Because of it's simplicity I'm probably going to use this browser together with other available browsers. If I'm going to like it or not is going to be shown after using it for a while. Then I'm going to write another opinion about this subject.
